She is Lila’s sister. Her magic skill is weak so she only can raise a limp little black snake. She always appeared with a pitiful appearance. Episode One

As expected, the Ceremony Elder assigned him to her. The phoenix titled its head back and rolled its eyes, just like in its previous life--its face full of disdain. 

That was when her sister Evelyn walked in, cradling a limp little black snake in her palms with tears rolling down her cheeks. Her sister was too weak and Phoenix fell in love with her pitiful appearance immediately, which made the female protagonist look like the villain standing between them.

Every student got a limited ration of elixirs. So she took Assassin Missions-- hunting rogue creatures, the kind that had lost their minds and turned feral, to earn extra elixirs. She came back bleeding every time. The phoenix pretended not to notice. He only came near her when she pulled out elixirs. He took what he wanted and walked away.    

One day he’d recognize what she’d give him. One day they’d fight side by side and Lila wouldn’t have to face those feral creatures alone. Then one day she saw him kiss her sister passionately. Her sister was laughing and dancing around him. 

A fellow student rode past on her white tiger and saw them in the distance. She shook her head at Lila and said to her that she really needed to stop asking Evelyn to look after the Phoenix when Lila went on contracts. There was doubt in Lila’s mind: when did she ever ask her that? The student told her that Evelyn said every time Lila left. 

Lila saw stars. She’d been out there risking her life and Evelyn was back here cheating with her phoenix. Lila asked the student if Evelyn had her own creature.
