Too Late For Your Tears, Brothers

Too Late For Your Tears, Brothers is a modern elite family short drama of 23 episodes. It tells a story that Vivian was tortured to death by her three brothers because they regarded her bone cancer diagnosis as a trick to win love.

The day after Vivian’s bone cancer diagnosis, her three brothers took her to Thrill Skate Park. Staring at the giant pendulum ride, she bit back the weakness. She refused to do so and tried to explain again and again. In the end, they forced her on the ride anyway.

Her brothers thought Vivian was lying and the bone cancer diagnosis was her way to seek attention. The second the ride lifted off, searing pain shot through Vivian’s bones. She couldn't stop shaking. The pendulum, pirate ship, drop tower. Everything she loved as a kid had turned into torture.

Round after round, the pain wore her down until she couldn't even cry anymore. When he saw how quiet and compliant she was, her oldest brother finally smiled. He said to her that after the last roller coaster, they would head to the private suite and get her favorite triple-layer cream cake.

But Vivian never got off that roller coaster alive. The doors popped open, and tourists filed out, chattering about the drops and g-forces. They were all hyped up, still buzzing from the rush, a little shaky from the thrill. Only the back corner had one girl, sitting completely still. Her head was pressed into the cold safety bar, her brown, wavy hair falling over her face. It looked like she'd just passed out from tiredness after the ride.

Vivian darted through the crowd, shoving her way to the car. When she saw her face, she froze with her brain short-circuiting. She reached for her own arm, and her hand went right through it. That girl was Vivian.

At that time, Vivian was dead and changed into a spirit. A wave of grief crashed over her. Vivian thought god really had a sick sense of humor. She died on her 18th birthday, the day she wanted to live more than anything in the world.

So when will Vivian’s brother find her death? And how will they react after they find that it is they who lead to their death? Let’s continue reading or watching Too Late For Your Tears, Brothers directly on ShortMax

Episode two

Too Late For Your Tears, Brothers

The exit was loud and crowded. Families who didn't dare ride the thrill rides were pressed against the metal rail, craning their necks to spot their people. Her three brothers and their adopted sister were right there with them.

Vivian’s sister was in her favorite pink sundress, bouncing on her heels as she stared at the crowd. She asked where Vivian was and why she hadn't come out yet.

Vivian’s eldest brother was in his tailored suit, standing behind her sister, hands in his pockets. They'd been waiting 20 minutes. His face was getting colder by the second, flicking his eyes to his watch over and over. He growled that Vivian was so out of line with ice-cold eyes. He thought she was just throwing a fit because it was her birthday.

Vivian’s another brother jumped in, putting on that gentle smile he always used. He said “Come on, cut her some slack. She's probably just having fun. It's not a big deal, she's just a kid.”

The youngest brother leaned against the rail, joking like usual, “She's always been slow. Used to do the same shit at home. Spoiled her too much, that's the problem.” But Vivian saw the tiny flicker of worry he couldn't hide.

Episode five

Too Late For Your Tears, Brothers

The eldest brother was furious. He pushed past another two brothers, who tried to stop him, shoved through the crowd, and stormed onto the platform, right up to the coaster car. He stared down at Vivian’s still body, forcing his anger down in front of everyone.

He shouted at Vivian, “Vivian, you think you're tough? I'm gonna count to three. Three. Two.” He dragged the words out, but she still didn't move. The crowd behind him started cheering, pulling out their phones to film, all just here to gawk at the drama.

He stormed forward, grabbed her by the collar, and slapped her hard across the face. Smack, the sharp crack echoed across the platform. She didn't fight or make a sound, going limp with the hit and slumping lifeless into the coaster seat.

Part three: Too Late For Your Tears, Brothers ending analysis

Too Late For Your Tears, Brothers

The eldest brother slapped Vivian but Vivian had no reaction. So he decided to throw her into an abandoned car as punishment. He spotted the old shut-down forest train cars parked in the dim woods nearby. He didn’t hesitate and stormed over with her over his shoulder. He shoved her hard into one of the dark cars. And then, they went back to hold the birthday party.

During the birthday party, two policemen broke in. The police told them that Vivian’s time of death was three hours ago. She had terminal bone cancer and extreme stress shut down her organs. Hearing this, the eldest brother went rigid instantly and tore up the death report. He yelled out of his mind, ripping the white sheet off Vivian’s body with his shaking hand.

The cop’s work light snapped on. The cold light was shining straight on her face. The second the eldest brother saw her face, he froze. Under the light, Vivian’s face was pale as death. Her lips were chapped and bleeding from where she’d bit them dying.

He lifted his shaking hand fingers reaching slow for her cheek. When his skin touched hers, that ice-cold shot through his body from his fingertips. There was no warmth, no breath and nothing. His hand back like he’d been burned by a hot iron. From then on, the three brothers were trapped in immense remorse.

Part four: Conclusion

It wasn't until the police said "The time of death was three hours ago" that everything completely collapsed. The sister who was thrown into the abandoned carriage by them, thinking it was just a "lesson", had already died in agony. Her pale face and cold skin made the usually dominant brother lose control for the first time. However, this moment of collapse could not bring back anything.

The most cruel part of Too Late For Your Tears, Brothers is that: They didn't not love her, but chose not to believe at the critical moment. And some mistakes, once made, can only be repaid with the rest of one's life but there will never be a day of being forgiven.
