She gave birth in the countryside, her mother-in-law was hoping for a boy. She had already given birth to three daughters and her mother-in-law was extremely dissatisfied with this, even threatening to kick her out if she had another daughter. After giving birth to a fourth daughter, the mother-in-law took the child to the wellside claiming they couldn't afford to raise her and wanted to abandon the child. Her husband loved his wife but was powerless to stop it.
